The EIGA will respectively distribute prizes in three categories to products that contain the most innovative characteristics and will be accessible to the marketplace within one year. Furthermore, an advancement prize will be distributed to honour the most innovative project in each category. The endowment of the advancement prize is 5,000 Euros (in total 15,000 Euros). The nominees will also receive the opportunity to promote their work and nomination through the EIGA.

(Content: new form of game play and game design, innovative application(s))

(Content: innovative form of added value and application, innovative scope of the application through current existent models)
Assessment Criteria
The level of innovation of the submitted games will be assessed according to the following criteria:
T - Technology:
Software:
Innovations with a universal technical design and the programming of the game, e.g. game engine, graphics, physics, artificial intelligence, multi-player opportunities, etc.
Hardware:
Which innovative technologies set the game apart, e.g. mobile terminals, special user interfaces, controller or input devices, what new input devices are used to play the game?
Scope of the Application:
Which new applications or types of applications are available with its use? How does it change the experience of the user or the terms of use?
Additional Significance:
There are, in addition to the entertainment, more additional, innovative uses, e.g. learning effects, marketing effects, etc.
GD - Game Design:
Game Idea:
How innovative are the game ideas and the goals that lie within the game? Which target markets, either new or old, are affected?
Game Design:
Which innovative game elements of gameplay, setting, story, or game design, does the game contain? How does it contrast with other games? Which new concepts and experiences are conveyed at the end of the game?
Scope of the Application:
Which new applications or types of applications are available with its use? How does it change the experience of the user or the terms of use?
Additional Significance:
There are, in addition to the entertainment, more additional, innovative uses, e.g. learning effects, marketing effects, etc.
AME - Application Methods and Environments:
Business Model:
Which new market domains or monetary opportunities will be addressed? Are new target markets addressed? Will current uses through new functions be successfully changed? Is the innovation of the application permitted in a new environment or a new type and manner (e.g. in teaching, research, medicine, management, psychology)? Will new opportunities be created through innovative conversion? Will an engine for new settings or game types be utilized?
